There are two types of inverters pure sine wave and modified sine wave. Modified sine wave inverters are a more basic form of technology than pure sine wave inverters, they produce power which is perfectly adequate for powering simple electronics. Modified sine wave inverters are used to provide power for your less sensitive appliances like phone chargers, heaters and air conditioners. Modified inverters are best suited for resistive loads which don't have a start up surge. Victron Pure sine wave inverters use more sophisticated technology to protect even the most sensitive electronics. Pure sine wave inverters produce power which equals – or is better than – the power in your home. Appliances which may not function properly, or which may be permanently damaged, without pure, smooth power will be safe with pure sine inverters. The Victron - VE.Direct AU/NZ Energy Phoenix Inverter has high start-up power. The full bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has proven its reliability over many years. The inverters are short circuit proof and protected against overheating, whether due to overload or high ambient temperature. Needed to start loads such as power converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or electric tools. When in ECO mode, the inverter will switch to standby when the load decreases below a preset value (min load: 15W). Once in standby the inverter will switch on for a short period (adjustable, default: every 2,5 seconds). If the load exceeds a preset level, the inverter will remain on. A remote on/off switch can be connected to a two pole connector or between battery plus and the left hand contact of the two pole connector. In- and output voltage, percent load and alarms. MPPT charge controllers can be a powerful component of your solar system. They not only manage the charging of the battery bank from the solar panels, but they are also able to convert the higher voltage of the solar array to the lower voltage of the battery bank. This allows you to design highly efficient solar systems.** You take the total watts of the solar array divided by the voltage of the battery bank. That will give you the output current of the charge controller. For example, a 1000W solar array ÷ 24V battery bank = 41.6A. The rating of the charge controller should be at least 40A
